During the 4th – 6th of November 2014, “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum organised the VIIIth “Doina Darvaş” National Conservation-Restoration Conference, with the theme Specialists’ realities and solutions for heritage conservation and restoration in 2014 Romania, that gathered more than care 80 participants and 59 papers.

Within the conference, a round table was held, focused on the decrease of the number of specialists and the need for their continuous formation and training.
Also, the exhibition Restitutions was opened for the public, in which more than 150 heritage items were exhibited, belonging to the museum or private collectors, that were conserved and restored by the professionals in the Conservation-restoration laboratory.
Another exhibition that was opened for the public was Romanian restorers: arch. Horia Teodoru –120 years since his birth, made by the National Heritage Institute and the Union of Romanian Architects.
Also, the bilingual conservation – restoration bulletin, Restitutio, no. 8, was issued, that contains the papers presented at CONScience 2014.
