During the 3rd – 5th of November 2015, “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum organised, as usual, the IXth edition of “Doina Darvaş” National Conservation-Restoration Conference, with the theme Primum non nocere – Heritage restoration versus its “ages”.
CONScience 2015 had the following sections:
- Heritage investigation for conservation and restoration
- Movable heritage conservation, storage and exhibition
- Immovable heritage conservation, restoration and valorization.
During the conference, the traditional round table focused on the issues with which the specialists confront in their conservation – restoration activity and the ways to address them, this year the discussion being placed under the sign of 40 years since the foundation of the organised Romanian conservation – restoration system.
With the same occasion, the following exhibitions were opened for the public: Restoration and art, presenting items conserved and restored within “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum, Restoration and religious art, organised by the Religious Plastic Arts and Restoration Branch of the Union of Romanian Artists, and Mappings and restoration, organised together with “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning.
This year, too, the conference papers were published in RESTITUTIO, the Conservation-Restoration Bulletin, no. 9, following a selection made by the scientific committee.
