Nucarilor Valley Windmill, Tulcea

As opposed to previous exponents, the Nucarilor Valley windmill – built during the second half of the 19th century – rests on a high frustum-shaped foundation. The mechanism involved is similar to the one windmills run on. It integrates a shaft, four sails, two stones and a brake wheel. The gearing is encased in a wooden structure which rests on a wooden collar that’s secured to the stone foundation.
