It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our colleague Marcel Zahaniciuc, renowned ethnologist and promoter of traditional culture, former director of the "Arta Lemnului" Museum in Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Suceava county, which he led with devotion and professionalism for over 50 years. The museum in Câmpulung Moldovenesc was founded in 1936 and since 1968 it has been led by Marcel Zahaniciuc. With love, with selflessness, with sacrifice. He went through hard times, but he managed to save the institution every time. Author of several studies and books, including "Câmpulung Moldovenesc Ethnographic Area", he left generations of young people precious information and the example of a man devoted to his job.
Those who knew him, including the employees of the National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village, deeply regret the loss of a true friend, a professional, a man who still had a lot to say.
God rest him in peace! Way to light, dear colleague!
