Shoeing shed and tethering stake, 20th century, Vălenii de Munte, Prahova County
A wooden frame called shoeing stock which consist of a four pillars pocked into the ground linked together with rod struts under a saddle roof, there is around every inn.
During the halts at the inn, the carters fed and watered the animals used for work, but also they took care to check the state of the horse feet and oxen feet on their hoofs, especially the state of their matched horseshoes, the carter being obliged to match an another one replacing the missing one, taking care alwazs to keep a spare of the horseshoes to him.
The comparable shoeing stock are still used today in the Romanian villages, near the smith-houses or workshops, being needful for the blacksmith in the striking of the horseshoes to the working animals: horses, oxen, buffalos.

On the country side, a big part of the transports of the wood, hay, cereals were done with the carriage. Even the people use sometimes – to the fields work or with the occasion of the big feasts by carts with horses – the nostalgia of the old.
