Enisala windmill, Tulcea county
The windmill from Enisala, Tulcea County, dating from the first half of the 20th century, was transferred and reassembled in the museum in the year 1965. It is the smallest wind-propelled milling installation within the museum patrimony. It was conceived for milling small quantities of wheat or corn and could satisfy the consumption needs of a family (initially the building was placed in the very yard of the household). The windmill frame and the roof are made of reed, which confers an original and picturesque appearance.
The windmill operates on the principle of direct transmission of motion, the whole mechanism being driven by the wind power captured by the four blades.
