"The wealth of the Romanian south. The shirt with a top from Muntenia, Oltenia, Dobrogea and Southern Moldova" at the National History Museum of Moldova
Con the occasion of Ia's Universal Day, the "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum is present in the Republic of Moldova, at the invitation of the "Mihai Eminescu" Romanian Cultural Institute in Chisinau, withthe exhibition "Wealth of the Romanian South. The shirt with a top from Muntenia, Oltenia, Dobrogea and South Moldova",presented at the National History Museum of Moldova.
The exhibition includes 71 original pieces from the collection of Mrs. Marghiolița Constantinescu Rogojan, located in the heritage of the "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum in Bucharest. Mrs. Marghiolița Constantinescu Rogojan, plastic artist and teacher from the Muscel area, donated to the Romanian state a collection of over 250 pieces of traditional Romanian costume.
Being a common element of cultural identity between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, through this exhibition we are trying to make known the particularities of the high-waisted shirt from southern Romania, respectively from areas such as Muntenia, Oltenia, Dobrogea and southern Moldova.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Sunday, June 23 this year, at 11.00 am.
The opening will be followed by a short recital by the well-known popular music performerMaria Sarabas, People's Artist, the one who consecrated the folklore of the south of the Republic of Moldova.
