Exhibition of drawing and painting on glass
The National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village invites you on Thursday, October 12, 2023, 4:00 p.m., Cantonul de Drum. Stahl, at the opening of the exhibition Calligraphy on glass, by the plastic artist Elena Oana Agapie. The exhibition includes secular and iconographic drawing works made in the oil on glass technique. The artist reminds us of the craft practiced by the iconic peasants, which she continues in another ideational plan.
"I'm bringing into the present not just an iconographic motif, but an entire world, the universe of traditional Romanian culture with all its wisdom. In the Calligraphic Stories on Glass I placed my thoughts, identity and our roots", says Elena Oana Agapie.
Graduated from the "Fine Arts" School in Bucharest, graphics and painting sections, in 1990, Elena Oana Agapie also has a master class in glass painting under the coordination of Prof. Sabin Ştefănuţă.
Also, the artist has a rich exhibition activity, taking part in over 60 national and international exhibitions, her works being present in important private collections, but also in museums: Bucharest City Museum, Brașov Art Museum, "George Baritiu County Library ” from Brașov, the Lower Danube Museum from Călărași, the Ialomița Museum from Slobozia and the Palace of the National Military Circle from Bucharest.
The exhibition can be visited between October 12 and October 31, 2023, from Wednesday to Sunday, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., in Cantonul de Drum, Şos. Kiseleff no. 28.
