CARSTOVUL VILOR - THE DAY OF THE CROSS
The "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum is waiting for you, between September 14 and 15, 2019, at the cultural event "Day of the Cross. Cârstovul Viilor".
The feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (September 14) is synonymous with the Cârstov of the vineyards, a holiday that marks, according to the popular wine-growing calendar, the beginning of the picking of the vines and the "beating of the nuts".
The traditions and customs specific to grape picking will be illustrated by the Folkloric Ensemble "Tradiții luncaviţene", from Luncaviţa, Tulcea county, and by the "Tara Vrancei" Folkloric Ensemble from Focşani, Vrancea county.
During the two days of the event, the museum specialists will lead the visiting public to the households where specific constructions (installations of folk techniques) and objects reflect the occupation of vine cultivation and wine production in Romania.
Lovers of folk art will be able to purchase objects made by folk craftsmen from all over the country and traditional seasonal gastronomy from the fair organized on this occasion.
Also, on September 15, parents are invited to participate in the "Initiative for a better life" conference", organized by the Parental Education Association "Everything for you and your child".
And because in the same period the George Enescu International Festival is taking place, the National Museum of the Village will host in the two days concerts under the banner "The city sings!", with the participation of the Cantus Mundi Children's Choir and the Mundi Symphony, in partnership with the renowned National Choir of "Madrigal - Marin Constantin" room.
You're welcome!
