By Sânziene at the Village Museum
The National Museum of the Village "Dimitrie Gusti" invites you on June 24, 2025 to the event "de Sânziene at the Village Museum".
The holiday of the beginning of the agricultural summer, for which it is also called the summer head, it is loaded with symbols and marked by countless rituals meant to bring health, luck and fertility; Like any passing threshold, the magic load is ambivalent, for which certain rituals are meant to drive the evil spirits, now that the heavens open and the worlds are intertwined.
Also now, the Orthodox Church celebrates the birth of Saint John the Baptist, thus adding a great religious load.
The whole day the National Museum of the Village "Dimitrie Gusti" is waiting for you at the fair with II and traditional shirts, and between 13:30 and 14:30 visitors can participate in woven wreaths of field flowers.
On the stage Dumitra, starting at 12.30, they will be present: the popular "Netelene Mădiță" Ensemble in Nedelea commune, Prahova county, with folk dances and songs, the girls group "Ziene Netelene" from Nedelea commune, Prahova county, (Prof. coordinator Maria Popescu) and Narcisa Băleanu (and Narcisa Băleanu).
