DRAGOBETE
As spring is getting closer, we invite you to celebrate it together at the National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village, during February 24-25, at the Dragobete Fair.
Through this cultural event, the Village Museum wants to recontextualize and promote the traditional cultural values so important in building the identity of a people.
Babai-Dochia's son, symbol of love, Dragobetele (in Oltenia and Muntenia) or Năvalnicul (in Moldova), also called Cap-de-Primăvară, is a celebration of reconciliation, of good understanding, of the rebirth of the whole thread. And as the life of the traditional village follows the rhythm of nature, Dragobetele is a social level transposition of this renewal. Later, the sign of sacredness will be conferred on him by association with the Christian celebration of the Finding of the Head of Saint John the Baptist.
We are waiting for you together with folk craftsmen who welcome you with their most beautiful creations and traditional products, to enjoy this beginning of spring together, in the courtyard of the Village Museum in Șos. Kiseleff no. 28-30, between 9:00-17:00. From 12:00, in the Victor Ioan Popa hall, the Mina Choir will delight you with a recital of old Romanian songs, from several areas of the country, set in an artistic concept specific to the old-time sitters.
