It's the time of carnival! Clean Monday - Kathara Deftera

 The National Museum of the Village "Dimitrie Gusti" and the Greek Union in Romania invite you on Sunday, March 2, 2025, starting at 11.00 am, at the headquarters of the Museum in Șos. Kiseleff, no, 30, at the cultural event"It's the time of carnival! Clean Monday - Kathara Deftera ”, already in its 15th edition.

Every year, according to custom, the carnival, called Apokries, reborn in Greece and in all Greek communities around the world, and ends with the clean Monday - with kite, one -day trips, fasting and traditional music.

The tradition of the carnival, kept and promoted by the Greek Union in Romania through the project "E carnival! The clean moon "refers to the period before entering the Easter post, a time of amusement and parties with much and appetizing food, with music and dances, but especially with cheerful carnival costumes that fill the streets and public places throughout Greece.

This landscape, of which the joy and dynamism of the participants are not lacking, integrates perfectly into the small Greek Union in Romania, within this project carried out in most of its editions together with the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village Museum in Bucharest.

The event will be joined by representatives of other national minorities in Romania: the Bulgarian Union of Banat-Romania, the Association of Macedonians in Romania, the Lipovan Russian community, the Democratic Union of the Turkish-Turkish in Romania, the Ukrainian Union of Romania.
