Exhibition of Kangra miniature paintings
The Embassy of India in Bucharest in collaboration with Kaps Promotional Society and the National Museum of the Village "Dimitrie Gusti" invites you on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:30, to the "Miniature Painting Exhibition" / "Kangra Miniature Paintings Exhibition".
Kangra paintings are a famous style of thumbnail Indian painting that appeared in the eighteenth century in the Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Known for their delicate brush, lush natural landscapes and romantic themes, these paintings are a distinctive sign of the Pahari School of Art. Influenced by the Bhakti movement, the Kangra art often depicts scenes from Hindu epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata and, in particular, Radha and Krishna's love stories, played with grace and emotion.
The paintings made can be admired between June 6 and June 15, between 10.00-18.00, at the glass room, from the administrative building of the Village Museum, Pavel D. Kiseleff 30.
