We invite you, during July 18-19, 2020, toIarmaroc of Saint Elias, event occasioned by the great calendar celebration of the Holy Prophet Elijah the Tesvitean, honored in the Orthodox Calendar on July 20.

St. Elijah, the patron saint of summer, heat and atmospheric disturbances, marks, in the popular calendar, the middle of the pastoral summer, when feasts were organized on the mountains, shepherds separated rams from sheep and beekeepers cut honeycombs. Now memorial practices and ritual offerings take place, and people bring flowers and basil to the church for consecration. Spells and charms were made to ward off torrential rains, storms and hail, and even now all kinds of medicinal plants are collected for the sick.

The program of the event, intended to restore the atmosphere of the old fairs organized in the village of old on this occasion, includes a fair of folk craftsmen, creative workshops, musical moments, shadow theater for the little ones. Joining us will be the publishing house Univers and the writer Cristina Andone with the editorial project inspired by the Transylvanian villages and entitled "The Book of Goodness. Tales from Transylvania". Merindar, Cumintenaș, Dealul cu Fluturi, The day we will not forget, Bridge with Kites are the stories that bring us closer to values such as peace, decency, care, generosity.

We have not forgotten that we are in the month of his oven and it is good to learn the "Story of the Sun", as it is told musically by the artist Doina Lavric-Parghel, accompanied by her cobza. Doina's recital is a series of songs, stories and old charms, collected over the years from her native Bucovina.
