Dowry chests in the heritage of the National Museum of Dimitrie Gusti Village
The National Museum of Dimitrie Gusti Village invites you to the opening of the exhibition on Thursday, May 11, from 12:00 p.m.The dowry boxes in the heritage of the National Museum of Dimitrie Gusti Village.
The dowry chest is not just an object. It contains longings, dreams, legacies, colors, the scent of the orchard and the blooming field, tears, loves, sunsets and sunrises, the beginning and the end, the seasons and the moment.
The dowry chest is a universe, it is the history of this nation with its joys and sorrows. It is the primordial egg and the angels that accompany us constantly.
The present exhibition is a foray through the seasons of life, starting from the finest fabrics, to carpets, from the most spectacular chromatics to the simplest, to objects and of course, to dowry boxes.
The more than 60 pieces on display are part of the museum's collections.
During the opening, the volume Lăzile de zester din România, published by the Mega publishing house in Cluj Napoca, in 2022, signed by Rareș Dina and Corina Dina, will be released.
Historians, ethnographers, researchers will be present at the event.
