The Village Museum - then and now: Șura Vișeu de Mida - from the field to the museum!
Between March 20 and 22, 2025, the National Museum of the Village "Dimitrie Gusti" will be present in Romexpo, during the Embient Expo 2025 event, dedicated to innovation and evolution in the field of construction. Our participation in this prestigious fair is both an invitation to visit us, but it will give visitors and a deeper understanding of traditions and evolution in the field of construction.
The stand of the National Museum of the Village "Dimitrie Gusti" includes a photography exhibition, specialized book exhibition in the field of ethnography (from the contemporary folk art gallery of the National Museum "Dimitrie Gusti"), interactive demonstrations on traditional construction techniques compared to today's innovative and modern solutions. There will be present Maramureş craftsmen for demonstrations to make shingles, popular craftsman Poica Măldărășeanu (Prahova) for tissue demonstrations and Istvan Gerebenes who will show visitors how to work the board. Through virtual reality we will find out more about Roma crafts: iron processing, wood processing, copper processing, but also about the bear game.
