Spring in the Village. Martisor fair
Between February 23 and March 8, 2026, we look forward to welcoming you to the March Fair at the National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village.
A symbol of the purest feelings and a keeper of great hopes for the year that has just begun, the martisor never ceases to fascinate.
Under countless guises, from the simple string, most often white and red, accompanied or not by an amulet, to the most elaborate forms, fastened to the chest or wrist and then often hung in a flowering tree, given to girls, but also to boys, the martișor is one of the most popular Romanian customs. The tradition of Mărțișor has a considerable age. The inclusion in the UNESCO intangible heritage in 2017 through a joint effort of Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria and Macedonia is testimony to the value of this tradition derived from the agrarian beliefs of the renewal of time.
So old and yet never out of date, the martișorul awaits you to discover its secrets at our fair in Sos. Kiseleff no. 28-30, from Monday to Sunday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., where, as every year, folk craftsmen and plastic artists will exhibit the most beautiful marigolds, which you can buy to give to your loved ones.
Access is based on the museum entrance ticket.
You're welcome!
