Guild Feast 2023

The plastic artists' guild gathers for the celebration of the first icon painter, St. Luke the Evangelist, who became the patron of all painters.

AFAPRR- The Branch Association of Religious Plastic Art and Restoration of UAP from Romania invites you to participate in a new exhibition "The Feast of the Guild", organized together with the "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum, the host and at the same time its traditional partner, the most visited cultural objective from Bucharest.

The exhibition will include works by full members and trainees of the Union of Visual Artists from Romania, UNARTE students or master's students, as well as museum restorers, professional visual artists with important activity in the field of visual arts or the restoration of cultural assets. During the exhibition, the artists aim to present fragments of the secrets of their creations, moments of spiritual experience, crystallized on canvas, glass, wood or stone. The works of artists using such vast plastic tools of manifestation evoke, through line, color, volume and symbolism, the inexhaustible contemporary creative force, in a time of too little time.

The opening will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 1 p.m., on the feast day of St. Luke the Apostle and Evangelist.

The event will begin with the commemoration service of the "suppression painters", of the plastic artists and restorers who have passed on to the eternal ones, at the Timişeni Church in the Museum premises, at 1:00 p.m.

The exhibition will be presented by the art critic Marius Tița.

The exhibition can be visited between October 18 and November 18, 2023, from Wednesday to Sunday in the HH Stahl Foyer and Donor Hall.
