The honey fair
The National Museum of the Dimitrie Gusti Village invites you from May 20 to 21, 2023 atThe honey fair. The event is dedicated to the celebration of International Bee Day, marked every year on May 20, and will include a series of meetings with beekeepers from all over the country to talk to us about the benefits of honey and the importance of the bee for all of humanity. Albert Einstein used to say that "when the bees disappear from the face of the Earth, man will have only four years left to live".
On Saturday, May 20, from 1:00 p.m., at the Beekeeper's House (Casa Cut) in the museum, the actor Nae Alexandru together with the folk music performer Narcisa Băleanu will perform the skitThe story of Cut Houseand will familiarize the public with the traditions of beekeepers.
World Bee Day was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) in 2017, at the proposal of the Association of Beekeepers of the Republic of Slovenia to highlight the importance of bees for humanity and to draw attention to the need to protect them, as well as other pollinators . The chosen date represents the birthday of Anton Jana (May 20, 1734 – September 13, 1773), considered a pioneer and an important expert of modern beekeeping.
