Honey Fair at the Village Museum

The National Museum of the Village "Dimitrie Gusti" invites you on Sunday, May 18, at the La Honey Fair, an event dedicated to the celebration of the International Day of Albina, marked every year on May 20.

Beekeepers will be present from all over the country who will sweeten you with their products made available and tasting. Those who want to know more about the sweet road of honey are invited from 2 pm to a thematic guide supported by the Museographer Vasile Tatar. In the courtyard of the Cut household in the museum, at the beekeeper's house, from 3:00 pm, the actor Nae Alexandru together with the folk music performer Narcisa Băleanu will stage the story of the Cut house, and from 4 pm, the beekeeper Alexandru Mitruș will tell us more about honey and bee products.

The World Bees Day was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) in 2017, at the proposal of the Association of Beekeepers of the Republic of Slovenia to highlight the importance of bees for humanity and to draw attention to their need for protectors, but also to other pollinators. The chosen date represents Anton Janša's birthday (May 20, 1734 - September 13, 1773), considered a pioneer and an important expert of modern beekeeping.

We are waiting for you at a sweet Sunday, in the SSA Museum on the road!
