The National Museum of the Village "Dimitrie Gusti" turns 89.

On May 10, 1936, one of the first outdoor museums of Europe was opened: the Village Museum. Dimitrie Gusti, together with the cultural elite of the time, managed to create in an extremely short time a scientific and art institution that has become, over time, a cultural landmark at international level.

După treizeci de ani de când marele Vostru unchiu şi întemeietorul Dinastiei, Regele Carol I, a adunat, într-o măreaţă Expoziţie tot ceea ce putuse să împlinească România sub Domnia Lui, avem astăzi nemăsurata bucurie să întâmpinăm pe Maestatea Voastră în acest MUZEU AL SATULUI, de gospodării ţărăneşti, aduse din toate unghiurile ţării, ca să dea înfăţişarea adevărată a vieţii acelei pături din Neamul nostru, pe care cu toţii ne rezemăm.”, spunea Dimitrie Gusti în cuvântarea din 10 mai 1936, atunci cand se inaugura oficial “Muzeul Satului Românesc – un muzeu special, un document de identitate crescut în inima celui mai important oraş al României. Muzeul era deschis în prezența regelui Carol al II-lea, care a susținut cercetările de teren și a sprijinit nașterea muzeului atât financiar, cât și moral, a patriarhului Bisericii Ortodoxe Române, Miron Cristea, ambasadori acreditați la București, oameni de cultură și oameni politici și nu în ultimul rând, reprezentanții Școlii Sociologice de la București, condusă de Dimitrie Gusti, toți cei care au contribuit prin munca lor la realizarea acestei instituții a cărei anvergură, în prezent, a depășit cu mult planurile lui Dimitrie Gusti însuși.

Present, past and future in transdisciplinary and interinstitutional approaches”. Vor lua parte reprezentanți ai Ministerului Culturii, ai Comisiei Europene in Romania, ai Institutului Cultural Român, CNR Unesco,ai Instiutului Național al Patrimoniului precum și Dl. Emanuel Petac, Președintele Comisiei Naționale a Muzeelor și Colecțiilor din România. Tot în această zi va fi deschisă publicului și expoziția “România în memoria lumii. Patrimoniul mondial UNESCO”. Tot atunci, pe 10 mai, sărbătorim împreună cu Societatea de Cultură Macedoromână și Balkan Romanian Day, establishmentpRhineLaw no. 156/7 June 2021as a national holiday reminiscent of the official recognition of the Romanians from the Balkans by the Ottoman Empire in 1905. On this occasion there will be a series of book launches and presentations.
