This was organized on the occasion of National Minorities Day - December 18, 2022 in a festive setting.
On December 18, 1992, the UN General Assembly adopted the "Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National, Ethnic, Linguistic and Religious Minorities", the first international document that offered a guarantee of respect for minority rights. Following this decision, a number of states declared December 18 the Day of National Minorities. Romania rallied to this international approach in 1998, by approving GD no. 881/1998, December 18 is declared "National Minorities Day". Starting from 2017, December 18th is established as the "Day of National Minorities in Romania" as a national holiday.
