Romanian Village Day
The National Museum of Dimitrie Gusti village invites you on Sunday, September 25, 2022, to celebrate together the day of the Romanian village.
“The Romanian village is the key to our understanding as Romanians in the great choir of European nations, it is the place where the past meets the present to prepare the future. The village speaks of the deep history of the country. He does not speak through glorious events, does not retain major historical data, the heroes of the villages are anonymous, most often; However, the village speaks through the daily life of the inhabitant, still conditioned by the fertility of the earth, the rain and the sun, the crops collected at the end of the seasons, which are drained with rhythmicity after the cosmic hour of the universe, not after the haste of the modern man. " , declares conf. Univ. Dr. Paula Popoiu, general director of the National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" village in Bucharest.
On this occasion, visitors are invited to meet a part of our legacy represented in the exhibition entitled Lada de dowries, an incursion through the seasons of life. The dowry box, as a reason, presents the creation of the Romanian peasantry from all over the country, starting from the finest fabrics, to carpets, from the most spectacular chromatic to the simplest. The over 60 exposed objects are part of the museum's collections.
Also, visitors will be able to participate in a series of workshops and will be able to purchase a series of handicrafts at the open fair on this occasion.
The day of the Romanian village was established by Law no. 44/2020. "The day of the Romanian village can be organized by the authorities of the central and local public administration, by the other state institutions, by natural or legal persons by organizing and participating in programs and events with social, cultural and scientific character in order to appreciate and appreciate and To promote the Romanian village ”, is mentioned in the law.
