CONscience 2012

During the 31st of October – the 1st of November 2012, “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum organised the VIth edition of “Doina Darvaş” National Conservation-Restoration Conference that was focused on the main following themes: heritage preventive conservation, new methods in heritage investigation, built heritage conservation and restoration, and restored movable heritage.

In this year, our traditional conference was connected to the IIIrd Symposium of the Balkan Archaeometry Network, having the National Institute for Research and Development in Optoelectronics (INOE) as main organiser, together with the National Village Museum in Bucharest, during 29th – 30th of October, at the Village Museum site (you can find more info on this symposium at:  http://inoe.ro/certo/balk).

During the conference, the book “Conservation and restoration of the vernacular architecture”, coordinated by Vivian Dragomir, PhD, was launched, and the exhibition “Spiru Haret schools – program of the community architecture along the XXth century” was opened for the public, together with the launching of the publication with the same name.

The bilingual bulletin Restitutio launched during the conference is a double issue, containing both the papers from the previous conference, and the ones from the current one.
